Announcing our FASST Fund!
We are writing to you today, as colleagues who share a commitment to our students' success and the health of our academic community, to ask for your support for the WAU FASST Fund (Faculty, Academic Staff & Students Together).
This emergency aid program is integral to our community and directly supports the students we teach and mentor every day. It's founded on the powerful idea that collective care enhances impact; that when faculty, academic staff, and students work together, we improve both our teaching environment and their learning environment.
We see firsthand how emergencies can derail a student's education. The WAU FASST Fund serves as a crucial bridge for students facing basic needs issues that could impact their education. The WAU FASST Fund is designed to get students money quickly and with few barriers, which is rare and essential in times of crisis.
As you know, the challenges our students face are intensifying. With recent cuts to social services, such as SNAP benefits, our students need our reliable support now more than ever.

The WAU FASST Fund is a member-driven and -administered mechanism for direct support to students whose financial insecurity compromises their ability to come to class or their class performance.
