Wayne Academic Union (WAU) is a 501(c)(5) organization legally known as Wayne State University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors-American Federation of Teachers Local 6075 (WSU AAUP-AFT Local 6075). Its mission is to promote the interests of higher education; to advance the standards, ideals, and welfare of the profession; and to serve as the collective bargaining agent for the faculty and academic staff of Wayne State University.
