HELP FUND THE FUND
Faculty, Academic Staff and Students Together (FASST) along with the WSU community can donate to help undergraduate students through emergency financial difficulties that arise, keeping them out of the classroom.
The Wayne Academic Union FASST Fund quickly gives out small emergency grants to help currently enrolled WSU undergraduate students cover essential costs that will help support their education.
Eligible Emergency Expenses:
Emergency or temporary housing assistance for housing insecure and homeless students.
Assistance with rent or essential utilities due to an emergency situation.
Emergency food assistance.
Ineligible Expenses:
This fund supports immediate, verifiable emergencies and is not for anticipated, vague, or general financial uncertainty.
Tuition bill, fees, owed balances, textbooks, and other normal and anticipated academic expenses.
Transportation, car repair, parking tickets, or gas assistance.
Non-essential utilities, household, or furniture costs.
Expenses related to the student’s family members.
Eligibility Requirements:
This fund is available only to undergraduate students who are currently registered at Wayne State University.

The WAU FASST Fund is a member-driven and -administered mechanism for direct support to currently enrolled WSU undergraduate students whose financial insecurity compromises their ability to come to class or their class performance. The goal is to support members in identifying and assisting students in need without undue barriers.
