Special Executive Board Election: President

Dear Colleagues,

The Wayne Academic Union (WAU) is holding a special election to fill the position of President on the Executive Board, due to an upcoming retirement.

The Nominations and Elections Committee is now accepting nominations and self-nominations for this position. To be nominated, candidates must complete the nomination form (located at the bottom of the page) and secure the support of two fellow WAU members. Nominations require the approval of both the nominee and the 2 nominators. Support may be expressed by emailing office@waunion.org.

Nominees are also encouraged to submit a 250-word candidate statement explaining their interest in serving as WAU President.

  • Term: From conclusion of election through June 30, 2027

  • Deadline: Nominations accepted until Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the conclusion of the General Membership Meeting (12–1 p.m., Hilberry C)

  • Eligibility: Both nominee and nominators must be current WAU members
